Dawn Staley laughs at some questions during her visit.

Dawn Staley Honored

Dawn Staley was honored at a special assembly at Dobbins on March 21, 2000. At that assembly, the Dobbins Girls' Gym was dedicated to Ms. Staley who has given inspiration, support and pride to all Mustangs. At the assembly, she encouraged our students to try to go to college and to apply for a Sallie Mae Cup Scholarship

Ms. Staley graduated from Dobbins in 1998 and went on to play basketball at the University of Virginia. She was also a member of the U.S. National Basketball Team which won a gold medal in the U.S. Olympics in Atlanta in 1996. She now plays for the WNBA's Charlotte Sting and is one of the finest basketball players in the league.

And recently, Dawn was named the new Women's Basketball Coach at Temple University. We all wish her well and good fortune in her new position.
