Cosmetology
The cosmetology program at Dobbins is a three year program beginning in the 10th grade. Students are trained in all facets of cosmetology, including related theory. The beauty field is a multi-million dollar industry. Therefore, students with well developed skills and a good work ethic have the opportunity for a successful career. Our program prepares students to take their State Board Examinations in the 12th grade. This is a great benefit because the students not only have a high school diploma, but are licensed cosmetologists as well. Students that have completed the required 1250 hours and have applied to take their State Board Exams are eligible for the co-op program in the 12th grade. These students work in beauty salons as shampooists, assistants or hair stylists, depending on their level of expertise. We are committed to our program and the success of our students.
