Murrell Dobbins CTE provides academic and career-based skills needed to pursue higher education and/or a career in a competitive global market, all with the goal of graduating productive and contributing citizens.
The Murrell Dobbins Career & Technical School is a 9th to 12th grade Vocational High School. In keeping with the traditional philosophy of the C.T.E., we offer a full complement of vocational programs and a comprehensive academic program in order to prepare students for entrance into the workplace and/or post-secondary education. Ninth graders get the chance to experience each of the vocational shops. Tenth graders select one trade area for concentration study through their senior year. A complete academic program leading to a high school diploma is required of each student. In addition, each students must complete a required sequence of vocational courses. Each student also has the opportunity to participate in a full program of extra-curricular activities.
The overall program at Murrell Dobbins Career & Technical High School comprises nine vocational areas of study and a comprehensive academic program. Murrell Dobbins students participate in School-to-Career experiences including opportunities of work-based learning in the 11th and 12th grades.
Murrell Dobbins provides support services for all students needing additional help to succeed. Students with disabilities may also apply to this school. The multidisciplinary team in the student's 8th grade school will meet with the parents and the student to determine the kind of support the student needs and to assist in the application process. Request will be forward to the Regional Office where they will be evaluated by a region/school team and the Equity Coordinator.
